National Disability Practitioners Over 10,000 members

Hi Ariane,

“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times”. These words by Charles Dickens describe our nations summer. Communities have been devastated. But incredibly, so many inspiring people found strength to support others. At NDP our thoughts are with everyone who has experienced challenges at this time - even more so if you have clients in need too.
Dylan Alcott took out his 6th straight Australian Open and said his win was due to the many people who provide the expert support he needs. In encouraging people with disability, he promised".... as we continue to grow, society will support you and help you do whatever you want to do, like it's done for me”. Dylan’s win is one that should be claimed and celebrated by all people working across the many roles in disability. As Dylan has highlighted – it is your work that each day makes potential possible!
Click on and let us help you to have the best of - disability career - times, in 2020!

NDS State of the Disability Sector Report
The NDS State of the Disability Sector Report is the annual snapshot from the perspective of service providers and importantly, the action NDS is taking on their behalf. Of note, survey participants reported the difficulty of recruiting to the range of disability workforce categories.   For example 84% of service providers indicated that it is extremely or moderately difficult to recruit psychologists.
Women and work
The Vital Signs report highlights the challenges faced by women when considering work, income, education and retirement.  The disablity workforce and HESTA share common ground - both comprising a very high proportion of women.
