National Disability Practitioners Over 10,000 members

Hi Jessica,

The Australian disability workforce is diverse and rapidly growing. Each workforce segment shares common and unique challenges. Did you know that "Allied Health" is a generic term for what is more than 15 separate but interdependent professions? Each separate profession is grappling with learning new ways to collaborate and deliver new services.

For the first time, Australia joined the International Allied Health Professionals Day celebrations, on Monday 14 October. This initiative shone like a light to recognise the contribution of the Allied Health Practitioners in health, aged care and disability service.

NDP is leading a number of innovative approaches to support Allied Health Practitioners with developing their disability skills and networks. Allied Health 'Speed Dating' Networking events enable people to meet and learn from new local contacts; mentoring programs are underway and a full day of an allied health virtual conference will be held on Wednesday 13th of November 2019. The event will be completely accessible online, with up to 30 days of unlimited access to on-demand content.
Registrations are open now so be sure to get involved! It's all about you and your interdisciplinary practice.

There's no time like the present to broaden your knowledge base and there are a number of terrific resources available to help you along the way. Got a question for us? Please feel free to contact us via

Enjoy your week!
